Secure Communications

Security architecture and future systems for private, resilient, and controlled communication.

Strategic Initiative

Capability overview

What this covers.

Sensitive coordination routinely travels through channels selected for convenience. Security programs generate exactly this kind of traffic — travel detail, staffing change, access arrangement, incident discussion.

Protocol's near-term work in this area is architectural: reviewing how sensitive communication currently moves and designing controlled alternatives from available systems. Protocol Communications, a proprietary suite, is in development.

Development status

Certain capabilities described are in development. They are not currently offered as operational products or contracted services.

Problems addressed

The conditions this would address.

  • 01

Sensitive coordination moves through consumer messaging.

  • 02

Group membership persists past the need for it.

  • 03

There is no separation between routine and sensitive traffic.

  • 04

Retention happens by default rather than by policy.

Map what moves where today, define what should move where instead, implement with systems that exist, and design toward the proprietary suite as it is built.

Intended areas

What this would cover.

  1. 01Communication architecture review
  2. 02Channel design by sensitivity and role
  3. 03Membership and retention policy
  4. 04Resilient and out-of-band communication planning
  5. 05Emergency communication procedure

Relevant audiences

Who this is being built for.

The environments below are the ones this area is being developed toward. Nothing here is offered to them today.

An acoustically isolated communications room sits behind shielded glass and a blast-rated door.
A room designed for protected exchange.

How the work is held

Assessment establishes the current state, architecture defines the target, integration brings systems and providers onto it, and management keeps it there as the environment changes.

Protocol engages secure communications against a described environment rather than a template.

Illustrative project types

Shapes an engagement takes.

Constructed illustrations of the kind of work this area is being built toward. None describes an engagement Protocol has undertaken.

  1. 01Communication architecture review for a family office
  2. 02Channel and retention policy design
  3. 03Out-of-band and emergency communication planning

Discuss secure communications.

Protocol is building this area deliberately. Conversations at this stage are about partnership, capability development, and long-term requirements.
